The initial release is planned to include a context-menu AI action list for highlighted text, a pinnable sidebar for page-aware chat, an extension popup for tasks like text-to-speech and translation, and access to all 400+ available models.

The extension itself is free. Usage draws from the same daily token pool as Rewind.ai. You get free tokens every 24 hours, and paid plans starting at $5/month give you a larger pool if you need more.

Highlight any text on a page, open the context menu and choose an action such as summarize, translate, explain or rewrite. The output appears in the extension sidebar, so the underlying page stays open behind it.

No. The extension only contacts Rewind.ai servers when you trigger an action. It does not run in the background, record what you visit or send any passive telemetry.

You can use core features without an account within the anonymous daily token limit. Signing in with a free account raises your token ceiling and keeps your conversation history in sync across devices.

The popup gives quick access to the most common tools: chat, text-to-speech, translation and image generation. The full catalog lives at Rewind.ai, and the extension links there directly when you need a less common tool.

The bookmarklet opens a new Rewind.ai tab with your selected text. The extension is more capable: it adds an in-page sidebar, a context menu and a quick-access popup so you can use AI tools without ever leaving the current page.

You can choose any free self-hosted model or switch to one of the 400+ external models. Set a default in the extension settings and override it on the fly from the sidebar or popup whenever needed.
